Call me old fashioned, but I think trust is important. In fact, whether they are building a wall, rewiring a house or having their flat decorated, when people take on a tradesman to do the work that needs doing there is probably nothing more important to them than knowing that the job is going to be done properly and that they are going to be charged a fair price for the work that has been done.
The truth is, most people have no problem with paying for a service. What makes many wary of engaging a tradesman is the thought that they are going to be sold short. The fear that either they are going to be overcharged or that the work is going be substandard – or both – is often very real, and sometimes very justified too. There are just too many people in the trades who are not up to the job, or who just want to take the money and get out of there whilst putting in as little effort as they can get away with.
My Mission is to Help
This was my reason for setting up this blog. My mission is to help decent people to get the service they deserve by offering tips and advice, and practical assistance in finding reliable tradesmen who will do a good honest job for a good honest price. Not really too much to ask, is it?
But first of all let me tell you something about myself.
My name is Pete Thomas and I have been a multi-faceted tradesman for fifteen years, having inherited my skills from my now retired father. I suppose he was a bit old fashioned too. He made a good living by providing a good service. He was always in demand, and he was frequently being asked back by existing customers to do more work whenever it arose. They knew they could trust him, and that he could be relied upon to do good quality work at a reasonable price which could be broken down, fully explained and justified. Bodge and run was never his style, he was actually quite proud of the loyal client base that he had managed to painstakingly build up over the many years that he was in the business.
Nobody Deserves to be Ripped Off
I know that most people work hard for their money, and it can be heartbreaking having to pay out for work only then to find that it hasn’t been done properly, or in some cases that it even has to be done again, at further expense. Nobody deserves to be treated like that.
Throughout my blog you will find all the information you need to make an informed decision about which tradesmen to use for which piece of work. I offer tips and advice based on my own knowledge and expertise on the subject. I want you to have the peace of mind which comes with knowing that the service you are receiving is to the most professional standard, and at a fair price too.
